Have you ever been overwhelmed? What about confused?  Well that is what has happened to me. I was involved in so many projects and so many groups that I got completely overwhelmed. My calendar was so packed that I overlooked some things. So you may ask, why did you take on so much? They are all good projects and back in the day I could do all of these things without a problem, but I have gotten older and I have other responsibilities. In fact it became so bad ,I just stopped doing anything.

I then took a break. During my hiatus, I had to take a long hard look at what I was doing, what my mission is, the people I want to reach, and the people I would like to help. I had to consider, do I want to continue in this direction of health education. Well, the answer is YES! Even though the medical field has made great advances, there are still large numbers of people battling chronic diseases and some have suffered life-altering complications that could have been prevented. (Am I speaking to you?) Education and self care is the key to addressing these issues.

My thoughts turned to you and the issues you have to face daily in order to live. All of the things that are required of you to do everyday can be overwhelming. So I have come up with a plan that has shown to be helpful to me and I want to share it with you.

The remedy to overwhelm is to downsize, prioritize and break tasks into small steps. Some of this may come easy to some of you but I am looking to those who may need this. My goal is to Inform.Educate.Inspire. My number one priority is  to provide information, tips, and strategies to help you live your best life.

  • Is the project essential? Will it provide needed information? If not, I discarded it.
  • Prioritize the information. What needs to be addressed first? What do you need to know before taking the next step?
  • Determine the steps. Focus on that one step until you master or dominate it.

Now, that is the framework. The inside part or pieces are determined by you. You know what area you need help in. You know that you want to dominate that chronic disease. The platform I use is shared decision making. We work together to form your Domination Plan. I invite you to join our Small Changes Big Results group on Facebook. There are 3 questions for you to answer to join. In this group we will have different areas of focus and you will decide what area you  to  dominate.  Let’s get to work!
